Technology in the Classroom is Your Friend

Hello Fellow Teaching Newbies:

 First, this is my first blog so be gentle with me. As you can tell by the name I find teaching to be an adventure. You will never know what the next school day will have in store for you. That being said lets dive into the topic at hand, technology in the classroom. If you are anything like me it can be an intimating thought to incorporate technology in the classroom. However, its not the big ugly monster in the room, its your friend that makes your day just a little easier. Think about a day you have had where you could wait for the bell to ring, your students have been on one and you could just use some peace and quiet for the last 10-15 mins of class. Then you remember the typing program on the chrome books or the math game online.Now you can sit and breathe for the remainder of the school day. On top of all of this is also the need for students to be educated in technology. Today's world is ever dependent on technology from business to everyday appliances. For our students to be ready for the work world they must be knowledgeable in the basics of technology and how to combine these basics to create and invent new uses and technologies. So, its important that you give time ample time and instruction on different devices and coding. Explore these different programs and devices first to get a feel for them and ideas on when and how to use them in your classroom. Since this is my first blog I am going to keep it short and as I do more I will get better at formatting. Until next time dont forget why you wanted to teach in the first place and don't give up.
